Bachelor’s Program in Divinity – Dokuz Eylül University Divinity School

 

The Divinity School at Dokuz Eylül University aims to educate specialists in religious studies who are well-versed in theology, capable of critical thinking, and equipped with an interdisciplinary approach to contribute to academic and societal discourse. The program provides a comprehensive education in Islamic theology, history of religion, philosophy, sacred texts(manuscripts), and denominational studies, ensuring a solid academic foundation for its students.

The medium of instruction in the undergraduate program is predominantly Turkish, with certain courses conducted in Arabic and other foreign languages. Additionally, students who do not meet the required Arabic proficiency level are offered a one-year preparatory Arabic language program. Upon the successful completion of the four-year undergraduate curriculum, students are awarded a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Divinity.

To qualify for graduation, students must achieve a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00/4.00, successfully complete all courses with at least a C3 (2.00/4.00) letter grade and accumulate a total of 240 ECTS credits. Furthermore, completion of a mandatory internship within the designated duration and quality standards is a graduation requirement.
